this is a conversation with AOL - christ the company really does suck.......

ChatAgentUK014: Welcome to Member Help Interactive. Please present your question, and I will be with you in just a moment. :)
Garye358: Dear Whoever Today I cancelled my broadband which i do not now wish to do. You see, i need to use a dial up from another location but was informed by somebody who could hardly speak english in india then again by someone in the Uk that this was not possible and would need to upgrade to a better level of broadband.
Garye358: . Funny this because, for less money i can access the web from more than one location. Anyway, after speaking to a very unfriendly woman - hey presto i could access a dial up coinnection away from home. And check this, the broad band has not been cancelled becuase, guess what - that's right, i am using it right now.
Garye358: broadband So this is what i want. I DO NOT want to cancell my broadband and I DO want to keep things as they are becuase, and you guessed it, it is possible to use broadband from home and still be able to dial up on a normal connection away from home which is something i was told by more than one person was impossibl
Garye358: So, check this.....after loads of messing arpound and being given the wrong information everything is back to where it was last week. Someone has flicked a swith, clicked an icon and its all sorted.
Garye358: Funny that, don;t you think ? So please do not cancel my broadband and do not mess with any settings because it now works just fine.
ChatAgentUK014: After getting the broadband service if you wish to access aol through dial-up then you need to use 0845 paid access number for which the telephone provider will charge you
ChatAgentUK014: And did you cancel your aol broadband
Garye358: no you don't because i used an 0800 number just fine today ! and guess what, i am on broadband now...........so what is going on ?
ChatAgentUK014: And did you cancel your aol broadband
Garye358: yes, i did cancel it because they said it was impossible but it is obvioulsy not impossible and its just some tight fisted marketing exec at AOL trying to screw every customer for their last penny and not giving them what they want
Garye358: hey, but i know this is not your fault.........
Garye358: so all i need is this, do not cancel my broad band and leave the settings as they are as it is possible to dial uyp and use broadband too !!!! excellent
Garye358: r u there ?
ChatAgentUK014: For security purposes I need to confirm a few details with you, please confirm the last 4 digits of your credit card, debit card or bank account number for AOL payment.
Garye358: 0328
ChatAgentUK014: Kindly Hold for a moment whilst I check that out. Thank you for your patience. :)
Garye358: where are you based ?
ChatAgentUK014: As per our records you are on silver broadband
ChatAgentUK014: After getting the broadband service if you wish to access aol through dial-up then you need to use 0845 paid access number for which the telephone provider will charge you
Garye358: but that can't be right because i have used a dial up number today from my work address which was the 0800 number and i am useiung broadband now from home, so what gives ?
ChatAgentUK014: Please ring our ADSL team on 0800 376 5432and they'll be able to help you with that :-)
Garye358: well i don't need any help do i because you CAN use an 0900 number, ie. its free and use broadband at the same time.
Garye358: that;s an 0800 number
ChatAgentUK014: yes
Garye358: why ? what is the use of wasting all this time typing out stuff if i have to speak to someone, i have already tried speaking to someone and it all seems to work fine now so what i want is for you to not cancel my broadband ??? ok ???
Garye358: r u there ?
Garye358: hello
ChatAgentUK014: If you wish to use free phone access number then you need to go for aol broadband gold plus which is £31.99 per month
ChatAgentUK014: As in this you can use aol via dial-up .
ChatAgentUK014: Do you wish to upgrade to gold plus broadband
Garye358: no offence intended but that is an absolutely massive pile of stinking crap because i am doing it now !!!! hello, are you getting this. i used an 0800 number from work today just like last week and it worked and i am still on broadband at home, so check this - it can be done on the
Garye358: silver package
ChatAgentUK014: On silver broadband if you wish to use aol via dial-up you need to use 0845 paid access number
Garye358: can you read ???? i used an 0800 number today !!!!!!!!!!! an am on broadband now.......so you are wrong.
ChatAgentUK014: This must be due to some technical problem
Garye358: technical problem, more like a technical success !!!!! - THAT IS WHY I DO NOT WISH TO CANCEL BECAUSE THAT IS WHAT I WANT
Garye358: look, i am off now because you have about as much authority at AOL as my dad.
ChatAgentUK014: Do you wish to use 0845 paid access number or 0800
Garye358: 0800 !!!!! how many times do i have to type this ?
ChatAgentUK014: I am sorry as this is not possible on silver broadband
Garye358: and it works - i had no problem last week using both and have not done so until this morning, that is why i started this dialogh
ChatAgentUK014: For more clarification....
ChatAgentUK014: Please ring our ADSL team on 0800 376 5432and they'll be able to help you with that :-)
Garye358: jesus chatagentuk014, you really have been of no help whatsoever - please don't tell me you are in india ?
Garye358: adios chatagentuk014
